Beth Elgert – Secretary

In 1986, my husband Mark and I married and he whisked me from Northern California to Grand Forks, ND where he was stationed with the Air Force. While stationed there, I enrolled at North Dakota State University and earned my BS in Elementary Education.
I started teaching in 1990 and education has been my career, initially as a 5th grade teacher and, since 2006, as a specialist in instructional technology.
My husband and I have lived all over the world. Our son Andrew was born 5 weeks after we arrived in Japan. After an additional overseas tour in Germany, which included several trips to Luther Land, we were transferred to Virginia which has been home since 1995. I have worked in several urban school districts and am now in New Kent, a rural district about halfway between Williamsburg (where we live) and Richmond.
I spent 10 years on the Southeastern District Board of Directors including serving as chair for the last three. I have also served as our church council secretary, vice president, president and as the first chair when King of Glory adopted Policy Based Governance.
Mark and I enjoy traveling, reading, watching baseball and playing with our two grandsons who live right around the corner from us.
