My Community Grants
In honor of Rev. Dr. John Denninger’s years of ministry as President of the Southeastern District—LCMS, MALIM created a special fund to which congregations and individuals donated in thanksgiving for President John. This fund will provide “My Community” grants to help strengthen outreach efforts to neighbors where our congregations are located and where their members live, work, and play.
That God’s “heart for the world beats through each of us” is an idea that President John has enthusiastically championed, and as our District President, he has consistently asserted that the more we open our eyes to the neighbors around us and see them as objects of the same love God has for us, the stronger our mission partnership with God will become.
Throughout his ministry, President Denninger has given special attention to neighbors with multicultural backgrounds, and for this reason MALIM also wants to provide support for our congregations as they seek to become more creatively involved in engaging these neighbors with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Some types of projects that we are looking to fund:
- New mission outreach projects that develop on-going relationships between the congregation and its community.
- Community mission projects that partner with interethnic mission efforts.
- Mission projects that encourage or support the establishment of new faith communities.
In a mission understanding of “Ready, Set, Go!” MALIM grants are intended to support “Go!” projects, involving hands-on efforts of mission outreach.
MALIM does not accept unsolicited grant applications. Initial inquiries are accepted through the Grant Inquiry Form below. If your proposal meets MALIM’s grant criteria, you will be invited to complete a detailed grant application. Inquiries are accepted at any time.
