“Blessed to Be a Blessing” Scherer Crisis Grants help SED Congregations
As the COVID-19 pandemic has led to such uncertainty and challenge for us all, MALIM established the Art Scherer Memorial Crisis Response Fund, which offers grants up to $5,000 for congregations and schools facing unprecedented hardships. These funds can be used for outreach activities to the community, feeding programs, technology for live streaming worship & Bible study, and other needs related to the pandemic. To date, nearly $120,000 has been awarded to 39 congregations in the SED.
Funds for these grants have been received from memorial contributions in honor of our founding president Rev. Dr. Arthur Scherer, as well as from congregations and individual donors. Art’s message of “Blessed to be a blessing” is the driving force behind these grants. MALIM hopes that we can bless others through resourcing congregations and schools in these difficult times.
