Deb Poese – Member at Large
Deb Poese has been a member of the Lutheran Church of St. Andrew in Silver Spring, Maryland for thirty-five years. During that time, she has been an active participant in congregational life, including serving on and chairing the Board of Directors, leading sessions for midweek education and various conferences, and engaging in the contemporary music ministry, as well as supporting children’s ministries through Sunday School and Wee Worship.
Additionally, Deb has served the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) in the Chesapeake District at all levels, holding a variety of offices including District President from 2010 – 2014.
Deb retired in January 2026 from the faculty at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, where she was a professor of mathematics and served in a variety of leadership roles. She and her husband, Bruce, have two adult children and a daughter-in-love, as well as two grandchildren, Reese (7) and Everett (5).
